SEDONA!!!

We took a much needed day trip up north to Sedona on Friday and despite a rough start (including Brooklyn getting car sick ALL over and getting up to our hiking destination and finding out it was closed because apparently it's on government land - UGH) we had a great time! We ended up going to Slide Rock State Park and it was definitely perfect and meant to be. The park wasn't crowded at all and we did it all!

Before our hike! It's nearly impossible to get both girls looking at me and smiling but this one is pretty cute. If Brooklyn could talk here I think she would say... "we drove 2 hours in the car for this?!?!? I'm not impressed."

We were waiting for Daddy and the girls kept themselves occupied in the water fountain!

She's wearing Brynn's shirt from last year - "I was born a princess!" Fitting for her right?! She was so funny hiking because she held her snack cup in one hand with her baby and would swing her other arm back and forth - she was on a mission. At one point these 2 older men stopped to admire her walking along and got a kick out of her shirt. They said, "I think we all need a shirt like that!"

Daddy and his girls!

Throwing rocks in the water. They had a blast - we could have stayed here all day!

Wonder what Brynn's thinking about here!

Such a beautiful place and just what we all needed!!

Perfecting her rock throwing skills!

They're starting to change colors!

More hiking! Brooklyn was quite the trooper. We had brought packs for the girls but they walked the entire way and we walked quite a distance for little legs. Bryce and I were getting excited because we thought for sure they would nap in the car on the way home or go to bed early. What were we thinking?! Neither happened!

Brynn loved leading the way and guessing which way we should go!

Taking a break. "Hand over those snacks Dad - this hiking is hard work!"

Wanting to go up the big hill! She wanted to follow the big kids but this is where the trail got steep.

Such a cool bench literally on the edge but the view was amazing!

On our way to have our picnic lunch under the apple trees. Still going strong! (Brooklyn is looking for a refill in her cup!)

There was even a little ice cream shop there so of course we couldn't pass that up once the girls saw that. I have to say it was delicious!

Brooklyn couldn't decide - ice cream or snow cone! She had both.

The best day we've had in a long time and it felt so good!! Can't wait to plan another fun adventure. It was also so fun to wear jeans and long sleeve shirts! I even packed our vests and gloves because I thought we might be cold... guess I got a little too excited about the weather! We probably could have managed with short sleeve shirts, it was beautiful out.
