Fun With the Sensory Bin...

So I've always read so much about sensory bins for kids and to me they never sounded like they would be that much fun... plus the idea of setting one up just sounded like it was going to be such a mess to clean up. Call me crazy, but I decided to put one together today (thanks to Daddy for getting the beans yesterday!). It was a perfect day because little Miss Brooklyn got up at 5:15am today so by 10am we were all getting a little cranky. I put this out in the living room and they played with it until 11:20am! I couldn't believe it... it was GREAT!!!

They had a blast scooping the beans out and putting them in muffin tins, the other box, dumping them in the funnel - you name it. Brynn loved trying to use the tongs to pick up the pom poms and easter eggs. It was really fun - for me too!

After playing outside of the tub for a while, they decided to get in! They were pretending it was a choo choo train  - and Brynn kept saying "choo, choo!!" Take a look at Brooklyn's hair... we've noticed some curls popping out in the last few days. Still trying to figure out if they're really curls or just from the styling products she uses in her hair (that would be yogurt, fruit, soup and anything else she may be eating!) - I really do think they might be some curls though because we gave her a bath and they were still there! It's cute.

Silly sisters!!!

Brooklyn decides she's had enough

and shows me "done" with her hands!

Little did I know, she was headed for the kitchen to get these veggie sticks that I had on the counter! Little stinker. She took one and climbed on top of the train table to enjoy her snack! Love her little face... she can reach on top of the counter now and also open the doors. Good thing Daddy installed different locks on the door so they can't unlock the top lock without having a key. We don't want to lose them!
