Happy Memorial Day!

It was a beautiful day today (well, beautiful for us out here - high of about 95) so we decided to go to the zoo since most likely it will be the last time we'll be able to enjoy some time outside for a while! Thankfully, not too many people thought about going to the zoo on Memorial Day - it was perfect! Even Brooklyn slept...

For just a bit! She's awake and ready!

Brynn fed the giraffe's this time! She wasn't afraid one bit, she loved it.

They're like, "hey - bring some of that lettuce down this way!" So cute.

Next we were off to Monkey Village. There were a bunch of them out and running about today...

Not the case with the orangutan's... we saw 2 of them but they weren't performing like they usually do. This guy is the only one who I could get my picture with today.

Before we left, Brynn wanted to ride on the carousel. We weren't so sure because usually she wants to get off in the middle of the ride, but this time she did a little better.

She still wasn't thrilled - and she looks a little freaked out here! - but overall she did much better this time than our last experience. It's all about baby steps!

SO BIG!

We have to keep the number of pictures sort of equal, so here's one of Miss Brynn. Look how big she's getting!! Her hair is 1/2 way down her back and I can't believe she'll be 2 years old in just a few months. She's been practicing how to hold up 2 fingers so when the big day comes, she'll be ready to let us know how old she is!

It's time to EAT!!! On to carrots...

She loved carrots! She wanted more but I didn't want to overdo it on the first day and make her turn orange. There's always tomorrow!

Look At Me!

Brooklyn has started to get on her hands and knees and she can't wait to be let loose! It won't be long now...

Enjoying an afternoon swim while she's supposed to be sleeping! I guess this girl thinks that sleep is overrated.

SQUASH!

We're on to the orange foods - Brynn picked out her first one... SQUASH! It's difficult to take the picture and feed her at the same time so the picture is a little off centered, but you get the point!

She really liked it! No funny faces or anything!

"Hey Mama - where's that spoon?!"

So I'm not sure why... maybe because she picked it out or probably just because she wants to do everything her little sister does, but Brynn wanted to eat the squash too. I figured it wasn't that big of a deal - extra veggies won't hurt no matter what form they're in!

In addition to eating 2 bowls of squash, grapes and an entire grilled cheese and turkey sandwich... I turned around and she's eating her shoe! She is crazy and she's been even goofier since her new hairstyle! Maybe I should take the ponytail out!

Date Night With Auntie Janice!

The girls were so excited for Auntie Janice to come over (Mommy was too!) - I'm sure they get tired of the same face all day long...

We gave Brynn a new hairdo and she actually liked it! "Pebbles"

She ran around in the backyard (even though it was close to 110 yesterday) and cooled off in her pool when needed!

Of course she never forgot to take care of her little sister - she's so good to her!

Hmmm... I can only imagine what she's planning next. Yikes!

I Can Just Hear Her Saying This..."

"What? Is there a problem?! I like sour cream ok?!"
- Seriously this girl could eat an entire container of sour cream if we let her! She even cleans her face when she's finished. (FYI - the "3 barrette look" is not her new style. That's just how she wears her hair when she's eating to keep eat as clean as possible. She's not too fond of a ponytail yet!)

More Peas Please!!

She's ready!! What's on the menu for today?! ... PEAS!

She made a couple of strange faces but for the most part she really liked them! Brynn liked peas as well. I guess both girls got that from me - I LOVE peas!

We Have an Escape Artist!

So Brynn came out this morning to greet me and say "Good Morning!" Uh oh.... I think it's time to start making sure that all of the doors are locked and she's not able to reach the locks. I don't want to find her outside one morning! Our little Brynn is getting so big!

Happy 5 Months to our Baby Brooklyn!

Brooklyn's 5 months today so you know what that means?!?!? Time for some GREEN BEANS! She seemed really excited for this adventure...

Until after about the 5th spoonful it must have started to hit her taste buds. She made some interesting faces that's for sure!

"Yuk!" Do NOT bring that spoon towards my mouth with that green stuff again!

"Where's the fruit?!"

5th month photo shoot in the backyard. Brooklyn just got finished pulling Brynn's hair. Lucky for us, Brynn still thinks it's funny when she does that.

5 Months! Such a big, happy, smiling little girl! She still doesn't like to sleep much so we're hoping she'll get tired soon. Mommy & Daddy could sure use a good nights sleep! 

13 Is A Lucky Number... Happy Mother's Day!

Surprise!!! I finally found out where we were going for Mother's Day (Bryce has been keeping it a secret for a while). We went to the Farm at South Mountain for a delicious brunch - it was a perfect day (a little hot but we should be used to that by now! 

Our family... Brynn was a little hot but once we let her down to run around and chase the puppies that were there, she had a blast!

A ring! Bryce asked me to marry him today! He is one brave guy - haha! Seriously, I'm such a lucky girl and our little girls are going to have to start practicing being little flower girls! So the number 13 turns out to be a lucky number... It's Auntie Allison's birthday, Jobie's 3rd birthday, Brooklyn's 5 month birthday, Mother's Day AND now we're engaged! Today was a great day. 

21 Months

I tried to use the 21 month sticker, but before I knew it Brynn had given it to Brooke and she was eating it. I think the sticker days are over for Miss Brynn... you can't sneak anything past her!

To go along with her 21 month b-day, she got a new booster seat and now sits at the table with us! Of course, baby took over the highchair right away. We're SO busy with all these babies! - the baby dolls keep us busier than the 2 girls... Brynn is constantly making them cry and we must rock and pat them back to sleep. Ahhhhhhhh, the bed feels great at night!
