My Dad, My Hero

This post is a difficult one for me and breaks my heart because it’s the first one since my Dad passed away. I always looked forward to hearing my Dad’s comments after seeing all of the goofy pictures of the girls. He loved them so much and really got a kick out of the blog and looked forward to seeing what we were up too. Honestly, I wasn't even sure if I was going to continue doing the blog or not because it feels like something is missing, but the more I thought about it I know that my Dad would still want me to continue doing this for everyone else and so I’m going to do that for my Dad. I know that even though he won’t be looking at the blog from the coffee table anymore, he’s the one who gets to be with us all the time now, keeping close tabs on us from above.

For those of you who didn't know my Dad – let me fill you in. He was an amazing man who made a difference in the lives of everyone who met him. You couldn't resist his calm nature, warm smile, sparkly blue eyes and funny sense of humor. He was so creative and could make anything from nothing… especially if duct tape was involved! He enjoyed carving and painting duck decoys and other types of birds and made the most unique creations from old gourds. He’d use wine corks, pieces of leather purses, q-tips... anything imaginable to add the special details. His creations are amazing and will be treasured by all of us forever.

He’s the best Dad and Pop Pop anyone could ever ask for and will be missed more than words could ever say. My life will never be the same but I know that we now have the very best angel taking care of us every day. Dad - I love you and miss you SO much! It's pictures like these that I will look at over and over and over again...

Mud Day Fun Day!

Yes - today was MUD day! The girls had lots of fun... especially since it was at Emmett's house. Brynn's been waiting to go to Emmett's for a long time!

Doing some mud painting...

Of course Brooklyn would hop right on in the mud pool! They were supposed to find hidden bugs at the bottom.

and they LOVED the water slide!

Brynn liked the monkey bars too

Brynn and Emmett! A fun day indeed.

Ready For A Good Laugh?!

So I experimented last night putting Brooklyn's hair in pigtails  - they look similar to handle bars, but they're still cute! Brynn was cracking up and wanted all of us in pigtails so I did it for her! My old hairstyle that I wore from the age of 3 until I finally told Grammy NO MORE!! :)

They're so silly! Here they're laughing because Brynn wouldn't stop making pig noises!

After that they showed off a little and performed their tricks for Daddy - they're pretty good with their form!

Future gymnasts in the making ???

Happy Father's Day!!!

We're so sorry that our Pop Pop & Papa don't actually have something to "open" on their special day today but to make up for it, the girls taped hearts all over the wall to show how much they love you... and Bryce and I worked up a sweat trying to get them to sit still, smile, cooperate - something! In the end, I think the girls won!

We love you THIS much! There's a couple hearts on their from Mommy & Daddy too!

OK - here are a few BLOOPERS for your enjoyment as well!

"Serious Mom?!?! - Enough!"

"I'm outta here!"

"Get Back Here!"

Mom & Dad have officially lost control

Check out that face on Brooklyn - she is NOT a happy camper to be back at the wall!

"Tada!!!" Happy Father's Day and we will be sending you both something very soon!!

Only the very best Dad's in the world can become a Pop Pop and Papa - and we're all SO LUCKY that we have you!! Have a wonderful day, we love you lots!

Also - enjoy all the new pictures on the blog. That should keep you both busy today!

Practicing For Her Wedding Day!

I couldn't share these pictures earlier, but back in May Brynn wanted to try on my dress. I'll definitely be sharing these pictures with her on her wedding day!

So cute!

Heading Home After a Fun & Exhausting Trip!

My bouquet from Allison & her Mom the day we left - it was so beautiful!

We did not want to wake the sleeping giant, but it was time to go. She was VERY comfortable sleeping in the big beds. It was a bit of a challenge to get her back in her crib!

Bye Auntie - We love you!!

Brooklyn walked the entire way from security to our gate!!

The second the girls shut their eyes, Bryce and I ordered a well deserved drink! We love you all and miss you so much - see you in September!! XOXO
