The Stockings Were Hung...

It's 1am and we're finally ready for bed! Being an elf is hard work!

Especially rough for Daddy Elf! He was out in the cold working away...

While I was inside with a glass of wine stuffing stockings and putting presents under the tree!

To Brynn, From Santa

To Brooky, From Santa! Can't wait til the morning!!!!

Milk, Cookies, Carrots and CHEESE?!?

This was very serious business. Brynn was in charge of Santa's cookies and we put Brooky in charge of the carrots for the reindeer. Earlier that day, we did face time with Grammy's neighbors because there are 2 little girls over there who love Brynn and Santa was coming to their house! Brynn got a chance to tell Santa what she wanted again before he made it all the way to her house.

Brooklyn decided she didn't want the carrots and so we gave her cookies too - look at her face!

She couldn't save her cookies for Santa, she decided to eat them instead.

and here it starts...

She wanted SANTA'S cookies! Brynn said, "no way!"

Here she is setting up the table for Santa and Rudolph

She came out of her bedroom so many times that night before she finally fell asleep at 10:20pm. She was too excited and each time, she would say - "Mommy, we forgot the milk!" then, "Mommy, we forgot the cheese!"  She remembered that Santa had told her on the phone that he likes cheese! Too funny. I don't ever remember being that excited for Santa at 3 years old... it was too cute!

"Twas the Day Before Christmas..."

We spent all day on Christmas Eve making cookies for Santa! First up were Red Velvet Ooey Gooey Butter Cookies - YUM YUM!! As you can see, one girl loved them and one did not! Brooklyn has a super sweet tooth, Brynn not so much.

She prefers the plain old white cookies (or dough as we all know licking the beaters is the best part!)

Brooklyn had enough of the backing early into it. After she had her beater - or 2 or 3 - she was off and running.

Brynn worked on her cookies all day long! Here she's helping to roll the red velvet cookies into powdered sugar before baking.

They're almost ready!

These were SO good!

Next up - cutout cookies. The one's that take forever but are so fun to do and decorate!

Brynn was really good at these. She did them all by herself - the rolling, cutting and putting them on her tray! I was impressed.

Ready for the oven!

They look pretty good for a 3 year old!

Uh oh - this could be trouble! Brynn saved a small (very small) piece of dough for Brooky so she could have a turn when she woke up. We gave her the mini spatula and a rocking horse cookie cutter.

She actually did really well!

Here we are making a choo choo train on the couch while the cookies were baking.
This, of course, was her favorite part!

Think she has enough sprinkles?!

2 Days Away...

The girls are so excited for Christmas! Sister hugs in the laundry basket!

We decorated our annual gingerbread house... we had to start quickly before Brooklyn ate the sides of the house!

Brynn helping Daddy with the icing.

She looks thrilled here! I think she's thinking, "come on Dad - hurry up. We have a lot of candy to put on!"

and more icing. I think we may have put a little too much icing on this year because it collapsed more than once! Oops - we finally got it finished though!

The girls using their rolling pins to roll out the green door

Brooky so happy with icing on her nose!

Our finished house! Looks good!!

Then we hung out stockings for Santa

Even Jack has one...

Brooky needed a turn as well. Of course, with no shirt on.

Ok Santa, we're ready for you to stuff them!

"Now I Know My ABC's!"

She's so proud! All of a sudden, she's singing up a storm. She knows the words to every Christmas jingle we sing around the house and both of the girls don't like when I join in to sing. They want Mom quiet! ... maybe I'm out of tune?!

SANTA!!

It's that time of year again!! Time to tell Santa what we want for Christmas and Brynn has a big long list... Although once we arrived she was a little hesitant to sit on the big man's lap. He kept telling her that he couldn't hear her so she finally got up on his lap to tell him about the dollhouse, horses, trampoline and all of the other goodies she wants! Brooklyn wanted NOTHING to do with him. Not even a high 5! Maybe she was a little afraid that Santa really has been watching her craziness all year! Haha.

Now, Santa Round 2!
The 2 little girls who just became friends today I guess! Up until now, they really haven't played together that well. They were so cute walking hand in hand.

Brynn with Betsy and her new friend Lincoln. Hard to believe that Betsy is only 3 months younger than Brynn!

Here they all are writing their letters to Santa!

Cuteness!

and again, Brooky wasn't a big fan!
